Services Offered

To help each adult attain their highest potential, individualized programs focus on the following areas.

Who is Eligible? Our program serves individuals who have differing abilities. Contact your County Case Worker to begin your journey with the DAC. A pre-admission meeting will then be held to determine appropriateness of placement in the DAC.

Day Training and Habilitation

Becker County DAC Services run Monday – Friday 8:30-2:30. We are a non-profit that provides day training and habilitation services for adults with developmental or physical disabilities. During our services Individual’s will work on life skills, community participation, employment, Community engagement and social skills. We encourage Person Center Activities while attending Day Services.

Community Integration

Includes restaurant skills, public transportation, and appropriate use of community facilities such as the DLCCC and public library. We also work with individuals seeking employment in our community, you can read more about this under our Vocational Training.

Sensory Integration

Integration of all senses through stimuli and a dedicated sensory room.

Recreation/Leisure

Training in basic life skills within the community. We accomplish this through group and individual outings.

Services Offered

  • Employment Exploration: Assists individuals in discovering and understanding various job options. Provides the opportunity to learn about different careers and identify what interests and skills an individual has.
  • Employment Development: Focuses on preparing individuals for the job market by building essential skills and competencies. Includes personalized support in resume writing, interview preparation, and job search planning.
  • Job Search Placement Services: Assists individuals in finding employment by offering support in areas like interview coaching, job matching, and access to job listings. Provides guidance on networking and skills development to aid in navigating the job market.
  • Employment Support: Provides ongoing assistance to help individuals thrive in their jobs. Offers support with navigating workplace challenges, building job skills, and accessing resources to ensure long-term success. Provided in both individual and group arrangements.
  • Pre-Employment Transition Services (Pre-ETS): Assists student aged 14-22 in preparing for the workforce by exploring different job options, learning job skills, and gaining real work experience. Educates students on self-advocacy and essential workplace skills to support a smooth transition from school to employment.
  • Customized Employment: A way to create a job that fits an individual’s unique skills and needs. Instead of finding a job and trying to fit into it, this approach tailors the job to match what a person can do best and what they enjoy. It involves working with employers to design a role that works for both the person and the company, making sure that it’s a good fit for everyone involved.

Residential

The DAC assists individuals in the community to maintain independent living. We provide assistance with community integration through outings, events and person-centered goals. Assistance includes but is not limited to house maintenance, shopping, balancing money and budgets, paying bills, medical and mental health visits, and accessing community resources.
